Dune: Part Two Review

Chaotic review incoming! Wow, it’s been a WHILE since I reviewed a movie, but I’ve come out of hibernation to review the much anticipated Dune: Part Two. My initial impression of Dune: Part One was: ‘for a movie that is mainly standing around, it’s a masterpiece.’ Despite my lack of experience with the source material, and my lack of reason for loving the first, I knew I had to see the second instalment on opening night. Which is exactly what I did! I’m glad I did because Dune: Part Two is categorically better than the first! Read on for my full review, potential mild spoilers with a dose of chaos! Enjoy!   Dune: Part Two picks us where the previous finished, Denis Villeneuve giving us one  continuous story, no flashbacks or memory trickers included. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem are joined by Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Léa Seydoux, Christopher Walken and Anya Taylor-Joy, the perfect all-star cast. The films stands at the 2h 45m mark, ye

Harry Potter Themed Autumn Bucket List 2021

The evenings are getting darker, the days colder and Halloween is creeping closer! So, I thought it was time for 2021's Autumn Bucket List. The 2020 and 2019 Bucket Lists were so much fun to create, and both years I loved completing the tasks with you all. This year I have decided to combine my love of all things Autumn with my love for Harry Potter, hence why I am releasing 2021's Autumn Bucket List on the 1st of September aka return to Hogwarts day. I feel like I barely ever talk about Harry Potter, which is strange because I love it and the books and movies were a huge part of what inspired me to get into film. The Harry Potter films are perfect to watch all year round, but they have a very Autumn/Halloween vibe which is why I choose the theme for this year's list. This year also marks 20 years since Harry Potter made his debut on the big screen, so this really is the perfect time to do all things Harry Potter related! The idea is during Autumn/Fall together we will cross off the items on this Bucket List, it should be a lot of fun - even if you aren't a Harry Potter fan.

I would love it if you joined in and made this the best Autumn/Fall! Make sure you follow Just Another Film Blog on Instagram to follow along and make sure to tag when you cross items off the list.

Here is the bucket list, below I will go into a little detail on each item!

Carve Pumpkins

Nothing says Halloween more than Pumpkins! They are 'the' Halloween decoration, giving off all the Autumn vibes. Also, what Hogwarts Halloween is complete without some pumpkins? Whether they be carved and hung from the ceiling of the great hall, or growing outside Hagrid's hut. Just make sure care is taken when carving them.

Decorate for Halloween

Who says decorating is just for Christmas? Take some time making key areas of your home look a little autumnal. Not only will this be fun, but it will put you in the mood for Halloween and make your Harry Potter movie marathon more immersive.

Have A Pumpkin Spiced Drink

Be basic this Autumn and get a pumpkin spiced drink! This can be anything from coffee to hot chocolate or even a cold drink!

Visit a Harry Potter Filming Location

This one is a little tricky, but Harry Potter filmed in so many locations across the UK (Sorry if you are not UK based) so hopefully a filming location will be nearby - I will make sure to list some on Instagram. I hope to go to the Warner Bros Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter this Autumn. Check out this post from my last visit: Warner Brothers Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter (justanotherfilmblog.uk)

Have a Halloween Feast/Make Sweet Treats

In the books, every year there is a grand Halloween feast, with all sorts of food on offer. So why not make your own? Make sure to make something sweet like: toffee apples or an apple pie - it is Halloween after all!

Take a Walk in the 'Forbidden' Forest

Harry, Ron and Hermione spend a lot of time wandering through the Forbidden Forest so why not go on your own woodland walk? Autumn is the perfect time to do this, as the leaves change colour, the ground is crunchy from fallen leaves and sometimes we forget to go for walks when its cold out. Although hopefully you won't run into any giant spiders or dementors on your walk.

Watch all 8 Harry Potter Movies

Imagine, it's raining outside, you have a free day, some snacks and you are snuggled up having a Harry Potter movie marathon - sounds dreamy right? Even if you watch them one at a time, these films are fun to watch every single time.

Go to a 'Triwizard' Maze

Enter a maze if you dare! Mazes are fun for all ages, although finding the exit can be tough. But at least you won't have to face Voldemort when you finally make your way out.

Make Something Butterbeer

Be that a butterbeer drink which you can buy from the Harry Potter online shop, or the Studio Tour shop in the UK, a homemade drink or cupcake. Butterbeer is always shown in the movies and is constantly mentioned in the books, so it had to be included on this list. I will make sure to post some of my favourite Butterbeer inspired recipes on Instagram for you all.

Read a Harry Potter Book

Cosy up with a nice warm drink and spend some time reading a Harry Potter book. My personal choice would be Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone as that's where it all started, and I know the book almost word for word at this point.

Eat a Chocolate Frog

What Harry Potter Bucket List would be complete without eating a chocolate frog? You can make your own, buy one from the Harry Potter online shop, the Studio Tour or from Marks and Spencer's. Or you can even just have Cadbury Freddo.

I love this Bucket List so much! I cannot wait to start crossing things off. I really hope you like the list and I really hope you will join me on this Harry Potter themed Autumn adventure. Please let me know what your favourite Autumn activities and movies are in the comments below.

  1. You can also dress as a Harry Potter character for Halloween! I've dressed as Dolores Umbridge, Bellatrix Lestrange, and Helena Ravenclaw.
