Deadpool & Wolverine Review

It's been a while since we got to experience a Marvel Cinematic Universe film at the cinema, the last film was The Marvels which released in November 2023. It's fair to say that since Avengers: Endgame (2019), the MCU has seemed a little directionless. This muddled directionless is due in part to stylistic choices, the introduction of numerous characters, the frequent release schedule of Disney+ shows, the loss of the core six and the multiverse. Like me it is likely that many will go into the cinema for Deadpool and Wolverine not knowing what to expect, luckily director Shawn Levy does a wonderful job at exceeding expectations. Providing us with an hilarious, violent and fun film. Deadpool and Wolverine breathes some much-needed new life into the MCU. Read on for my full review...there will be minor spoilers.  First things first, the first two Deadpool films, and all films that Hugh Jackman's Wolverine has appeared in were made by 20th Century Fox, and when Disney acq

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Theories

After a little hiatus from the blog I am back! Before I took the break in December 2021 I realised that I had not taken a break from Just Another Film Blog since I started it in 2017 and I was experiencing burnout. I was pushing myself to see films on the day of their release and then stressing over writing a review as soon as the film was over. I had stopped enjoying going to the cinema, which for a movie lover is pretty depressing. But I am back! And super excited for the next MCU instalment: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which releases on the 6th May 2022. Sam Rami's debut MCU film opens the multiverse, something that was trialled in Spider-Man No Way Home. The possibilities for this film are endless so I thought I'd share some of my theories with you all!

1) Will Trigger Mutants in the MCU

Yes, in the trailer we can hear the voice of Patrick Stewart and I'm sure he is once again playing his version of Professor X from the Fox X-Men films. Which would mean a mutant in the MCU, but hear me out, what if Multiverse of Madness triggers the arrival of mutants? So brand new versions of the X-Men (played by new actors) will start to appear in the MCU. And for that to happen I want all the Fox versions to be gone for good.

2) Wanda and Strange will fight - Strange will loose

I think it's pretty obvious that Wanda and Strange will fight it out. Why else would you put two of the most powerful magic users in the same movie? I want to see Wanda win, we've seen how powerful she is and we know know how crazy her chaos magic is. Plus I just think Strange could do with a loss.

3) Hugh Jackman will make a Cameo

Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart made a deal that they would stop playing Professor X and Wolverine at the same time. So if Stewart is back as Professor X, I'm going bet Jackman will make a cameo as Wolverine.

4) Wanda will get her Children Back

This is more of a want than a theory. But since that WandaVision post credits scene, I bet Wanda wants nothing more than to get her children back. Honestly, I don't care if Wanda leaves a wake of destruction as long as she gets Billy and Tommy back by the end of the film. Her children are her motivation after all and that makes her dangerous.

5) Thor Love and Thunder will be implicated

What with Jane becoming Thor and the general 1980's vibe of the few onset pictures that circulated a while ago. I bet Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will have ramifications on future MCU films, including Thor Love and Thunder.

6) Strange will die

Someone will die in this film and I'm thinking it will be Strange. But with there being multiple versions of Strange in the film, who knows which version will die.

7) Wanda's blossom trees are an illusion

Wanda is going to be at her strongest so far in this film, which means we can never be sure if what we are watching is real or part of an illusion. I thinking that scene where Wanda is clipping blossom and talking to Strange is in fact an illusion.

8) Issues won't be resolved in one movie

You can't open the multiverse and expect it to all be resolved within three hours. For some characters this film will just be the beginning of their arc's and as for the MCU things are going to change big time.

9) Tom Cruise as Iron Man

Tom Cruise was originally considered to play Tony Stark aka Iron Man. With the multiverse opening it would be fun to see him don the iron suit, even if it's just a quick cameo. Or he may even be a member of the illuminati.

10) Captain Carter

So it looks like What If...? is going to be essential pre Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness watching. Captain Carter's shield can been seen in the above poster, so this is more than a theory. But I hope she has a large role in the film, a cameo would not be enough.

11) Aaron Taylor Johnson as Quicksilver

Look Wanda lost her brother tragically in Avengers: Age of Ultron and since then people have been hoping to see Aaron Taylor Johnson back as Quicksilver. It's possible that in another universe he didn't die and this version will come face to face with our Wanda. Just imagine the emotion of this scene.

12) Mephisto confirmed!

Lol I'm just joking...or am I?

13) Wanda will enter the body of another universes Wanda as will Doctor Strange

Okay, this one is a bit strange, but what if somehow the MCU versions of Wanda and Strange entered the bodies of their evil/non-magical counterparts from different universes? Whilst this is a little compilated, this would be fun to watch. Strange could get arrested for something he didn't do and Wanda's new body could struggle to contain the magic.

14) Black Bolt from Inhumans will make an appearance

Remember the one season we got of Inhumans? I mean I watched it, but don't really remember what happened. But Black Bolt, as the leader of the Inhumans could be one of the many cameos and he would open up the possibility of another group of hero's in the MCU.

15) Clea will be introduced

This is a film about magic users, so it would only make sense to introduce another magic user. Clea has yet to be mentioned in the MCU and she would make a good edition to the film.

So, those are my theories so far! Honestly, though if none of these even happen I think this film has the potential to be great. It's going to be scary, full of magic and open up the MCU in a way we've not yet seen in live action. I cannot wait! I will keep this post updated with all the theories I think of over the next few months.

Thank you for reading.
