Dune: Part Two Review

Chaotic review incoming! Wow, it’s been a WHILE since I reviewed a movie, but I’ve come out of hibernation to review the much anticipated Dune: Part Two. My initial impression of Dune: Part One was: ‘for a movie that is mainly standing around, it’s a masterpiece.’ Despite my lack of experience with the source material, and my lack of reason for loving the first, I knew I had to see the second instalment on opening night. Which is exactly what I did! I’m glad I did because Dune: Part Two is categorically better than the first! Read on for my full review, potential mild spoilers with a dose of chaos! Enjoy!   Dune: Part Two picks us where the previous finished, Denis Villeneuve giving us one  continuous story, no flashbacks or memory trickers included. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem are joined by Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Léa Seydoux, Christopher Walken and Anya Taylor-Joy, the perfect all-star cast. The films stands at the 2h 45m mark, ye

D23 Disney+ News

If you didn't know/haven't seen any of the news surrounding Disney these past few days (and I don't mean the Spider-Man news - if you want me to write about that then please let me know) then read on to find out some of the details. I am super excited about everything in this post! So, what is D23? Basically, it's a show, there are panels, stalls and most importantly announcements on new movies and this year new content for Disney's new streaming service: Disney+. The biggest announcements at the TV shows. This year D23 has revolved around Disney+ which is why I've decided to share this post with you - one post with all the news. Disney+ is guaranteed to have something for everyone, including new content plus Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars movies. I really wish I was at this year's D23, so if anyone from Disney is reading this please can I have a press pass for next year? Sadly, in the UK we won't be getting Disney+ until February 2020, but Disney could still change their minds and let us have it in November 2019.

Lets, get to discovering the new content:

STAR WARS:

Obi-Wan TV Show

We've long awaited the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan - he wanted it, the fans wanted it and we finally get it! Not much is known about the show yet, there are no images or trailers which is sad, but we can speculate. I would love it see the series act as a continuation of Solo: A Star Wars Story at some point. It would be great to see more of Darth Maul (Ray Park) and Qi'ra (Emilia Clark), with some possible Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) and Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) cameos. I think this show is a great opportunity to bridge the time gap between the Prequal and Original trilogies and it will hopefully get the prequals a little more love like they deserve.

The Mandalorian

I have added the trailer for you to watch because I think it looks amazing. Production value wise this show looks like it's a movie rather than a TV show and many are already asking if it will be better than the movies!! The show will revolve around a lone gunfighter who operates outside the reach of the New Republic. Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) will play the lead role of The Mandalorian and with Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Lion King) writing and creating I think we are in for a treat. The show will take place between Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens - a period that we've not yet seen on screen, so we'll soon be treading into uncharted territory! The show is set for release on 12th November 2019.

DISNEY:

Live Action Lady and the Tramp Movie

So, first things first the dogs in this film are real dogs not CGI but they are all rescue dogs! My heart melts every time I think about this remake. So, I know the recent Disney live-action remakes have been a little bit hit and miss, but I have hope for Lady and the Tramp. Plus I am a total dog person so I could sit and watch movies about dogs all day everyday (unless they die because I'm then depressed for like a week). This adorable movie will be released 12th November 2019.

Noelle

I know it's a little early to get excited about or even think about Christmas movies but at D23 we learnt that Disney is back in the Christmas movie business (and I don't mean they will be releasing a huge blockbuster at Christmas time - I mean they are but you get what I mean). Noelle is a Christmas comedy starring Anna Kendrick as Noelle the daughter of Father Christmas, Bill Hader as Nick son of Father Christmas and Julie Hagerty as Mrs. Claus. The film will see Nick struggle with the prospect of becoming Father Christmas, a struggle which he decides to run away from. Noelle understanding that she is to blame for her brother disappearance sets out on a mission to find him and save Christmas. This film looks like it will be an instant Christmas hit full of laughter and seasonal joy! Who wants to watch it with me with a big mug of hot chocolate and a gingerbread house? The film releases on 12th November 2019!!

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

Okay so High School Musical was my favourite as a teenager, I knew all the songs and dances, 'Fabulous' was even my ring tone for a while. I saw High School Musical 3 at the cinema. I was so excited when they said they were making more and then it was revealed that it wasn't going to be the original cast. I am not exactly excited for this show. Am I going to watch it? Probably. Watch the trailer and let me know what you think.

Lizzie McGuire Tv show

Lizzie McGuire is back! After 15 years off our screens we get to watch our favourites again. The cast is all grown up now, so I imagine this is going to be a very different show, I just hope we still get animated Lizzie. It has been revealed that Lizzie now 30 will be navigating her way through life in New York City. Hopefully we will get more information soon.

Marvel:

The Falcon and the Winter Solider

The Falcon and The Winter Solider will be the first Marvel TV show to premier on Disney+. I'm so excited for this show! We know the show will focus on Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barns (Sebastain Stan), with Emily VanCamp revising her role as Sharon Carter/Agent 13 and Daniel Bruhl as Baron Zemo. At the end of Avengers: Endgame Captain America gave his shield to Sam Wilson; it has been confirmed that Wilson will have the shield in the show and that he will have a new costume which is certainly something to look forward to. However, I do wonder how Sharon Carter is going to react when she finds out that Captain America went back in the past to marry Peggie - things could get awkward. I cannot wait for this show, I really hope it has a Captain America: The Winter Solider vibe. The show premieres in August 2020.

Wandavision

The second of the Marvel TV shows will focus on Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), we also know that Kat Dennings will be back as Darcy Lewis!! Whilst there is no news on how Vision will come back to life, we do know that the show will lead directly to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness! The show will explore Scarlett Witches powers which is exciting considering she is one of the most powerful avengers and we have not seen half of her strength so far and she almost killed Thanos in Endgame. The show gives me hope for future storylines including Scarlett Witch bringing Quicksilver back from the dead and House of M. Wandavision is set for a 2021 release.

Loki

Tom Hiddleston returns as Loki, a character that we've already seen develop over ten years. You would think that Marvel would have said goodbye to Loki by now but we all love him so I can see why they have decided to create a show that revolves around him. The show will follow the version of Loki that stole the Tesseract in Endgame so not good Loki from the start of Endgame. Loki is sure to be a fun watch and is due for a 2021 release.

What If...?

This is the only animated Marvel show planned for release on Disney+. The show will not affect the events or the timeline of the MUC. Each episode will look at certain moments throughout the MCU and ask what if this had happened instead. For all of us that love theories this show is going to be a real treat. There will be 23 episodes, and each will be narrated by Jeffrey Wright (The Watcher) With most of the original cast returning to voice their characters this is going to be a must see. What If...? will debut in 2021.

Hawkeye

Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) is back! We know very little about this show, but I am super excited! We know that Kate Bishop will feature but as of yet no one has been cast in the role. I certainly think this show is going to be one to watch. It is due to release in late 2021.

Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel and She Hulk

These three shows have just been announced, we know very little about all three expect that writers have been hired. It is possible that Ms. Marvel will make an appearance in Captain Marvel 2. It also looks like She Hulk will focus on the cousin of Bruce Banner. Although we know very little about these shows they are certainly something to look for especially if the other MCU TV shows turn out to be as awesome as the films.

Non-Fiction:

The World According to Jeff Goldblum

Shockingly this show will star Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Thor: Ragnarok). The show will follow Goldblum as he explores certain aspects of the world. I'm not sure what to make of this show. But check out the trailer and let me know what you think. It is set for release on 12th November 2019.

I will try to keep this post updated as we learn new details. Please make sure you let me know what you think about these shows in the comments below! What show are you most looking forward to?

Thank you for reading xx
