After twenty years the devil in Prada is back on our screens. The Devil Wears Prada 2 may not be exactly what fans were expecting. Yes, it's gloriously fashionable, ruthless and packed with iconic performances and quotable lines, but it's also an honest depiction of the current hardships facing the fashion, writing and arts industries. It's a scary watch. If you were looking for just a ruthless and iconic sequel, this won't be for you, but if you are willing to embrace what the film is telling us, you'll not only enjoy the elements that make the first film iconic, but you will come out of the cinema with a fresh perspective. Ever since they announced a live action Mulan movie I have been excited!! Mulan (1998) was after all the first film I ever saw at the cinema and I remember watching it and loving it. I still love Mulan now, it has some of the best scenes/songs and characters (Mushu) and Mulan is one of the most unique Disney Princesses!! And we finally have a trailer for the live action version which is set for release in 2020!! I had so many thoughts whilst watching the trailer that I decided to quickly write a few of them up. This is only the second time I have done a trailer reaction, so I hope you like it!! Please let me know what you think of the trailer and my thoughts in the comments below.
Strong open with Mulan riding Khan! Wonder where she is going?
Ooh, where's that? Is the village inside those round buildings because that is so cool!!
I can already tell this is going to be such a visual film! Look at all the colour and the lanterns and the cool buildings!
Ugh her parents have found here a match. I hate the matchmaker idea but the scene in the original is so funny - I hope they do it the same with the Cricket and the ink.
Wait does Mulan have a sister?!?! This is just crazy - I need more information.
One minute though where is the nan? She better not be dead. (Ooh maybe she's already an ancestor and she wakes Mushu).
I think we can all agree that Liu Yifei is the perfect Mulan.
Of course she's going to bring HONOUR to her family, she's MULAN.
The costumes look amazing, and how perfect does that garden shot look? Just imagine Mulan singing Reflection into the pond. So perfect...oh wait thats right no songs (I'm crying inside).
I love the juxtaposition of Mulan getting ready for the matchmaker and getting ready to fight in the army. That is really awesome editing.
Okay so that shot of her spinning into the purple dress is visually great. Hopefully the movie will be fully of interesting shots.
Look at that army camp! It looks the same as the animated one.
She's fighting with her hair down - does that mean she doesn't have to disguise herself as a man? - I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Something makes me think this version is going to be very different to the animated one.
Okay so no Mushu, Nan or Cricket in this trailer which is upsetting. I really hope they will be in the film.
Also, the end of that trailer would have been the perfect moment for a few seconds of singing...but there's not going to be songs (I'm still crying).
Okay so what a Trailer!! It certainly looks like we are in for a very different version of Mulan and I am not sure how I feel about that. However, I think this film has huge visual potential I mean just look at the sets and the costumes, the colours and the camera angles. I certainly think we are in for a treat! Plus, I cannot wait for all the Mulan themed stuff in the Disney store. 2020 might also be the perfect year for another Disneyland trip if they go all out Mulan!!
